Ibn Battuta Expeditions

“I have indeed - praise be to God - attained my desire in this world, which was to travel through the Earth, and I have attained this honour, which no ordinary person has attained.”

Back in the early 14th century, the great Muslim explorer, Ibn Battuta, set out over a period of 30 years to travel hitherto unexplored Muslim and non-Muslim lands across all parts of Africa, the Middle East, South & Central Asia and China.

For many Muslims, Ibn Battuta exemplifies the traditions of the intrepid explorer – seeking out new challenges and exploring all of Allah’s lands, to gain from the experiences, and to learn more about His creation.
